What colours are best for branding?

That really depends on what you want to portray, who your audience is and what emotions you want to evoke. Yup, I said emotions. Colours play a big part if how we as consumers react.



Research shows that up to 85% of consumers believe color is the biggest motivator when choosing a particular product. And colour increases brand recognition by up to 80%. Simply put, brand colors are powerful in helping consumers decide whether they want to engage with a particular business.


A lot of research has gone into colour theory and what makes people tick. Here is a super quick summary for you:


Pink: Romance, feminine, sympathy, health, love

Red: Excitement, warmth, strength, passion, impulse

Orange: Energizing, warmth, happiness, flamboyant, fun

Yellow: Creativity, friendliness, confidence, wealth

Purple: Luxury, quality, wisdom, curative

Brown: Calm, reliable, nature, tradition

Black: Glamour, sophistication, security

White: Simple, hope, light

Green: Calm, wealth, environment, peace, balance, good luck

Blue: Security, stability, efficiency, intelligence, calmness
